Ask.com has officially thrown in the towel for crawling & indexing websites. They announced today that they will no longer be providing search services, but will focus on their social media service offering. NEEDS LINK AND/OR CITATION

Ask has long struggled to keep their head above the search waters. Even a full blown campaign from advertising darlings Crispin Porter + Bogusky couldn’t put a dent in the Google behemoth.

Farewell Ask.com. I’m sorry to say, but I don’t think you’ll be missed.
